The PH Department Silicon Facility (DSF) is one of the common projects launched in the framework of the LHC project. Its main purpose is to support research activities at CERN using silicon detectors with emphasis on the four LHC experiments (ALICE, ATLAS, CMS and LHCb) which are in the phase of large scale production of silicon detectors for their tracking systems. The facility consists of the Solid State Detector Bonding Lab (SSDBL) with adjacent areas allowing for silicon detector construction and testing for the LHC experiments.

In the framework of the R&D WP7, we are setting up a Quality Assurance & Reliability Testing Lab. It is dedicated to collecting data concerning quality related issues (problems, solutions) of existing and past silicon detectors including the silicon sensors, support structures, front-end electronics, cabling, cooling and local auxiliary electronics.
