TOTEM T2 (Homepage)

Our team is in charge of developing the GEM chambers for the TOTEM T2 detector. Prototypes and the first production chambers have been fabricated at CERN. The technology was then transferred to the collaboration partner Helsinki who performed a major part of the series production. In summer 2009, the full T2 detector (= 40 GEM chambers) is installed at point 5, in the shielding of the CMS HF detector, and ready for first collisions.
